Things to do in Kanata
Kanata real estate offers many recreational options for all ages. For families with an active lifestyle, there are an abundance of parks and trails for walking and cycling. Kanata Recreational Complex is just one of a few activity centres which have programs for families and children as well as fitness rooms and 2 full-size arenas for hockey.
Swimmers will appreciate the Kanata Leisure Centre and Wave Pool with separate kiddie pool and two story circular water slide and golfers will enjoy the sheer number of golf courses in the area. You can also put your mini-golf skills to the test at Blackbird Falls Putting Course. In the winter, enjoy snow activities such as a toboggan hill and skating rinks at The Kanata Recreation Complex in addition to countless Summer activities.
When it comes to entertainment, you and the kids will enjoy Hockey games—and some of the biggest names in entertainment—at the 18,000 seat Canadian Tire Centre, which is home to the Ottawa Senators NHL Hockey Team. This arena is also the venue for concerts, other sporting events, comedy shows, the monster car truck show, Disney on ice, and many others.
Kids will love the Xtreme Trampoline park and Kids Kingdom indoor playground. Kanata also has two locations of the Ottawa Public Library. Landmark Cinemas is the largest in Ottawa with 24 screens as well as an IMAX theatre. While, adults will be able to have their fun at the Crazy Horse, Options Jazz Lounge at the Brookstreet Hotel, and various pubs and bars located throughout the area.

Location and Transportation
Located to the west of the Greenbelt and Nepean, Kanata is just north of Stittsville and 22 km south-west of downtown Ottawa along Highway 417. Ottawa International Airport is approximately a 30 to 40-minute drive.
There are convenient bus routes to downtown from Kanata as well as Park and Rides if you prefer saving time during rush hour.
